Pre-Hispanic origin rites

From the beginning of time, man has felt the need to explain the mystery of life and death.  Many civilizations and cultures have created rituals to try and give meaning to  human existence.  Actually one of the most famous and representatives rituals that have pre-Hispanic origin it's celebrated on November 2. In Mexico we celebrate a tradition called Day of the Dead, this is a yearly tradition that was celebrated by the ancient mesoamerican cultures. This celebration is considered cultural heritage by UNESCO.

This is a very especiall ritual, it's a beautiful ritual in which we happily and lovingly remember our loved relatives that have died

There are two very special places in which this ritual is really special because of the form of celebration: Mixquic, a small town in Mexico City, and in Janitzio, a charming little island in the state of Michoacan.
